What is Jira Cloud integration?
In our modern DevOps environment, where agile teams do multiple code releases and hundreds of builds a day, communication, transparency, and collaboration are key. With Jira Cloud integration, we're delivering all these values by giving the ability for implementation and development teams to communicate back-and-forth online through Baton and Jira. The Jira integration is available with our Enterprise plan. Please contact your CSM for additional information.
Why is this important?
This two-way, streamlined communication between implementation and development teams eliminates the manual workload to track and manage the progress of findings, leading to significant resource savings and effective remediation of critical risks.
Our secure integration via our plug-in, available on the Atlassian Marketplace will allow you to:
-
Create Jira issues from a Baton task.
-
Sync back-and-forth ticket status in Jira to Baton.
-
Audit trail of task status changes in Jira and Baton
-
Hyperlink Jira tickets to Baton tasks.
Setup:

Requesting Access
1. Go to the Atlassian Marketplace, search for `Baton for Jira Cloud`, and select `Get it now`.
2. Go to the `Manage apps` in Jira, select `Baton for Jira Cloud` and click on `Get started`. Copy your installation key.
3. In Baton, head over to your Workspace Settings and paste your installation key. You will be notified once installation is successful.
4. Now you can connect multiple Jira projects to sync in Baton to project tasks and map out task statuses.
Functionality:
Once the Jira connection is established, you can connect multiple Jira projects to sync in Connected Apps settings. From this page, you can define which Jira projects to sync and map Baton task statuses to Jira statuses.
Note: This will be a two way sync. Task statuses will automatically update across both platforms.
You have now successfully integrated your Baton workspace and project to your Jira cloud! You can now create a Jira issue from a Baton task or sync any Baton task to an existing Jira issue in your Project View. Select any task to search for your Jira issue or create a new one.
From there, your Jira Link will be available. Clicking on that will bring your directly to your Jira issue. An activity log is available providing you with the status updates along the way.
IMPORTANT NOTE - Timezones
To ensure accurate reporting when setting up Jira integration with Baton, users will also need to ensure that their timezone is properly configured in their Jira Instance.
NOTE: If this configuration is not properly set up, days may report improperly within Baton.
