Overview
ClientSuccess can now keep a Next Meeting Date field up to date for every customer automatically — no more updating it by hand after you book a call. Once the field is set up, ClientSuccess looks at the meetings already syncing from your connected calendar, finds the next upcoming meeting for each customer, and fills in the date.
Because it's a real custom field, you can use it anywhere you use other fields: filters, segments, the clients grid, Pulse, reports, and integrations.
Who this is for: Admins who want CSMs to see (and sort by) when each customer is next on the calendar + spot accounts with nothing booked.
Before you start: At least one user needs a connected Google Calendar or Microsoft Outlook Calendar integration so meetings are syncing into ClientSuccess.
How to enable it (~2 minutes)
There's no toggle for this feature. Creating the field turns it on.
Click your Avatar Icon → Global Settings → Field Settings
Under Client custom fields, add a new field
Set the field type to Date and name it Next Meeting Date
Make sure the field key is exactly
next_meeting_date__csSave the field
That's it. Within the hour, customers with an upcoming meeting will show a date in the field.
Important: Before creating the field, check that you don't already have a client field using the key next_meeting_date__cs. Once a field with this key exists, ClientSuccess manages it automatically and will overwrite (or clear) any values in it.
What happens when it's on
Updates hourly — the field refreshes every hour, so a newly booked or moved meeting shows up within an hour.
Next meeting only — the field shows the soonest upcoming meeting ClientSuccess knows about for that customer.
Matched by contact — a meeting counts for a customer when any attendee is one of that customer's contacts (the same matching used to create engagements from your calendar).
Rescheduled meetings — the date moves with the meeting automatically.
No upcoming meeting — the field is cleared, so blank means nothing is booked.

Put it to work
Add Next Meeting Date as a column on the clients grid and sort by it to see who's coming up next
Build a segment of customers where Next Meeting Date is blank to find accounts with nothing on the calendar
Use it in automation triggers or reports like any other date field
A few things to note
Active and Trial customers only. Customers in any other status won't have the field filled, and any existing value is cleared.
How far ahead it looks. The field can only show meetings that have already synced into ClientSuccess. By default, calendar sync looks about 30 days ahead. If you need a longer window, reach out to support or your CSM — we can extend it for your account. A wider window also brings more future meetings into your engagement feed, so activity totals may look different.
Cancelled meetings with notes. If a meeting is cancelled but someone has already added notes to it in ClientSuccess, the meeting is kept (so your notes aren't lost) and the field will keep showing that date until it passes. Cancelled meetings without notes are removed as normal.
Dates use UTC. The date is based on UTC so it sorts consistently across all customers. For late-afternoon or evening meetings on the US West Coast, this can show the following day (for example, a 5:00 PM Pacific meeting appears as the next day).
Don't edit it by hand. Manual edits will be overwritten on the next hourly refresh.
FAQs
I created the field, but it's still blank.
Give it up to an hour. If it's still blank, check that the customer is Active or Trial, that the meeting includes one of their contacts as an attendee, and that the meeting is within the sync window.
An internal meeting is showing as the next meeting.
Any meeting with one of the customer's contacts as an attendee counts, including internal calls where a customer contact was invited.
How do I turn it off?
Delete the field (or change its key) in Field Settings. See Self-serve Custom Field Management.
As always, reach out to the support team or your CSM if you run into any issues.
