This article reviews some of the benefits around our updated Customer Growth reporting suite, which includes 1) Customer Net Growth, 2) New Customers, and 3) Churned Customers.
Customer Growth is only part of the story - be sure to compare against our Revenue Growth Report.
*Note*: These reports, while they include revenue data, are driven primarily by Client Status (ie "Active" and "Terminated"), Client-as-of Date, and Client Termination Date.
Each of the updated reports include the following enhancements:
- New Filtering Options - with this initial release, we’ve added filters for Client Type and Assigned To (more are planned to be added in future updates)
- Custom Date Ranges - new date selector allows you to look at the data in the timeframe that makes most sense for your business
- View data by Week, Month, Quarter and Year - improved date ranges will help you get the view and insights you need to understand what’s happening with your business
- Plus the ability to drill into the data based on how you view it (ie by week or month)
- New Metrics for Growth Rate and Retention Rate - understand where your customer base is growing and who you need to focus on
- Trend-line Comparisons - compare how you’re performing against previous periods
- Downloadable Charts - share exciting insights with others in your company and use them in presentations
- Dynamic Interactive Charts - the ability to click on reporting metrics (ie Existing, New, Reactivated, Churn, % Change) to better engage with you data and visualize what you want
Customer Net Growth Report
The Customer Net Growth report gives an overview of your logo growth and retention, and includes all the previously mentioned enhancements at the beginning of this article.
To better understand this view, here are some helpful definitions:
- Existing - The existing number of customers is calculated by the number of "Active" clients with a Client-as-of Date prior to the selected date range
- New - The number of "Active" clients with a Client-as-of Date inside of the selected date range
- Reactivated - The number of previously "Terminated" clients who come back as "Active" clients with a Client-as-of Date inside of the selected date range
- Churn - The number of clients whose status was changed from "Active" to "Terminated" within the selected date range
- % Change - The percentage difference of Total Logo growth and retention from the previous period
*Remember*: You can drill into the data based on how you view (ie by week or month).

**What we recommend**
- This is a great view to see your customer retention rate and general growth. Use this to answer the question - Are the logos in a book of business (BoB) trending in the right direction?
New Customers Report
The New Customers Report is an overview of the new growth of logos or customers (based on Client-as-of Date) in the selected period of time, and includes all the previously mentioned enhancements at the beginning of this article.
*Remember*: You can drill into the data based on how you view (ie by week or month).
**What we recommend**
- This view focuses exclusively on new logos or customers that are being added to a book of business. Use this to answer the question - How many customers has a book of business (BoB) gained during a specific period of time?
Churned Customers Report
The Churned Customers report is an overview of churn (based on Client Status = Terminated and Termination Date) in the selected period of time, and includes all the previously mentioned enhancements at the beginning of this article.
*Remember*: You can drill into the data based on how you view (ie by week or month).
**What we recommend**
- This view focuses exclusively on logos or customers that are being removed from a book of business. Use this to answer the question - Are we improving logo or customer churn within a book of business (BoB)?
