How to Use the Projects Page in Baton
The Projects Page, also known as the Projects List view, is the main landing page in Baton. This is where you'll see a list of all your projects, as well as details on those projects.
Navigate to the Projects Page
When you log in to Baton, the Projects Page will be the first page you see. If you need to navigate back to it later, you can do so by clicking on the "Projects" tab in the top left corner of the screen.
Filter Your Projects
Once you're on the Projects Page, you'll see a list of all your projects. To filter out projects that you're not involved in and only show the projects you're working on, click on the "Customize" button in the right-hand corner of the screen. From there, you can select filters such as "Project Lead" to only see projects where you're the lead or select projects where you're just a team member. Once you have the filter in place, click "Save filter" and name the filter. You can even make this your default view by checking the box that says "make this my default view."
Customize Your Columns
You can also customize the order in which the columns appear on the Projects Page. This is static across the workspace, meaning it will be the same for all users. To do this, click on "Customize" and drag the columns to the order you prefer.
Create Projects from Templates
Projects can be created from scratch in Baton, but it's recommended to use templates. Templates are project plans that serve as the bones of a project. To access templates, click on the "Templates" tab in the top left corner of the screen. From there, you'll see all the templates across the workspace for different project plans. You can use these templates as a starting point and customize them as needed within the project.
When managing templates, it's recommended to create a template that encompasses all the possible phases, tasks, or additional products for a project and then remove what you don't need when you create the project from the template. By breaking things out by different tracks or organizing your projects, it'll be easier to manage.
In conclusion, the Projects Page in Baton is the main hub for managing your projects. By filtering your projects, customizing your columns, and using templates, you can streamline your project management process and make it more efficient.
